The Academy Standards and Ethos Committee is made up of governors who follow the DSAT Scheme of Delegation.  Full details of governance in the Trust can be found by clicking here.

To manage their responsibilities, governors need to know and understand:

  • what the school is required to do
  • what the school aims to do
  • what the school is doing
  • the quality of what the school does
  • the particular contribution of the governing body.

The Academy Standards and Ethos Committee functions by working as a team and in partnership with the Headteacher and staff.

Governors in an effective governing body:

  • develop relationships both inside and outside the school
  • learn to work together as a team
  • regularly evaluate their own performance and seek ways to become more effective
