How will I know how my child is doing?

How will I know how my child is doing?

There are many occasions and opportunities within the academic year to visit school or to receive information about your child’s progress:

Sept

Class meeting - an opportunity for you to meet the class teacher and learn about routines and expectations.

Nov / Dec

Consultations - teachers meet with each child’s parents to discuss progress and share targets for the year. Work is available for parents to look at, but children do not attend.

Jan / Feb

Open afternoon - an opportunity to let your child show you around school and look at their recent work.

Mar / Apr

Report - a full written report on your child’s progress in each curriculum area is available to view through our online reporting system.

May / Jun

Open afternoon - an opportunity to let your child show you around school and look at their recent work.

July

Consultations - teachers meet with each child’s parents to discuss progress made since the written mid-year report. Children do not attend.

Happy parents make happy children, and happy children learn!

Learning is a 3-way process, involving parent, child and school staff.  If you have concerns (and you will from time to time), please do come and see us, rather than passing on your anxiety to others, or to your child. Together we make one team working towards the same goals for your child. Remember to speak positively about school and pass on an enthusiasm for learning!
